Mumbai, Nov 1(ANI): Maharashtra Navanirmana Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Monday said that all the newly elected legislators (MLAs) of the party to the Maharashtra Government will take their formal oath only in Marathi and no other language.
Addressing a press conference in at Mumbai, Thackeray said: "As per our party's ethos, all legislators (MLAs) will be taking oath only in Marathi and no other language. In case, our party MLAs are assigned any tasks, they will discharge them satisfactorily."
Referring to the visit and stay of Satya Sai Baba of Puttabarti at the official residence of Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, Thackeray said that the chief minister could have avoided publicizing the issue.
"Yes, it is a matter of faith. Varsha, the official residence of Chief Minister was visited by Sai Baba and it would have been better if it was an event of low profile and not highlighted. Official residence of Chief Minister ought not to be a venue for religious propagation," Thackeray said. (ANI)
