Tourist guide attempts to rape Brit teen, held

New Delhi, Nov 1: Police arrested a tourist guide for allegedly attempting to rape a 14-year-old British girl at a guest house in Delhi, an official said.

The British national had come to India a week ago with a group of 29 people.

According to the police, the group had hired Murlidharan (27) as their guide and he had been staying with them. The group had checked into a guesthouse, Ashoka Niketan Guest House, in Kapashera, as it is close to airport and they had to catch a flight.

Police said, after giving her statement before Metropolitan Magistrate under Section 164 CrPC, the girl and her group of friends, all British, left for their country.

The British Embassy was informed about the incident and officials from there reportedly visited the victim in the morning, Saturday, Oct 31.
