Radhakrishnan takes over as new ISRO chief
Bangalore, Oct. 31 (ANI): Dr K Radhakrishnan, one of the key persons behind India's Chandrayaan-1 mission, on Saturday took over as the Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation.
Dr Radhakrishnan, also director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, succeeds Dr G Madhavan Nair.
Dr K Radhakrishnan is an accomplished technocrat with a distinguished career of more than 38 years in the fields of space technology, applications and space programme management.
He graduated in electrical engineering from Kerala University in 1970 and obtained his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, in 1976.
He was awarded a PhD by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in the year 2000.
After assuming charge, he said: "It is a huge task that has been entrusted on him." (ANI)
