Mumbai: AI, Kingfisher collision averted

Mumbai, Oct 30: In another collision scare involving nearly 244 passengers, two aircrafts, Air India(AI) Nagpur-Mumbai flight and Kingfisher Airlines almost collided into each other when the AI flight landed on the same runway where Kingfisher Airlines was preparing for take off at around 10.45 pm on Thursday, Oct 29.

But the considerable distance between prevented the mishap from taking place in which around 227 lives would have been

AI Nagpur-Mumbai flight had 127 passengers while there were 117 Passenger in Kingfisher Airlines.

This incident adds to the list of near missed aircraft collisions after the one involving President Pratibha Patil chopper and AI India aircraft in Mumbai on Feb and another missed mid-air collision between Air India Air India and an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft over Assam on the same day.
