'China against arms sale to Taiwan by US or any country'
Beijing, Oct. 30 (ANI): China has expressed its "firm opposition" to arms sales to Taiwan by the United States or any other country.
The China Daily quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu as saying that the stance of the Chinese government on arms sales to Taiwan is clear and consistent, and remains unchanged.
Ma's remark came in the wake of the Taiwan authorities saying that the US government had suspended its sales of F-16 jet fighters to Taiwan because of pressure from the Chinese side.
Recently, Vice Chairman of China's Central Military Commission Xu Caihou had said that the US arms sales to Taiwan remains one of the major obstacles to maintaining the healthy growth of the military-to-military relationship between China and the United States. (ANI)
