Blogs carry terrorists' coded messages

Mumbai, Oct 30: After emails and social networking sites, terrorists are now using blogs to to carry coded messages for their accomplices.

Speaking on the growing phenomena, an officer of the Anti -Terrorism Squad said," Terrorists are now using blogs instead of emails and social networking sites because many of the culprits were nabbed through these modules."

Police say that blogs have now become a favourite mode of communication for terrorists because of the anonymity it provides to the receiver of messages unlike a emails in which the IDs of both the sender and the receiver can be traced.

To tackle this problem, officers of CYber Crime Investigation Cell(CCIC) and the National Technology Research Organisation(NTRO) are engaged in scanning blogs and blocking those which contain materials instigating hatred towards other religions.

Recently FBI foiled possible terror attacks on India by tracking the series of emails exchanged between the American citizen David Headly,and the Ilyas Kashmiri, operational chief of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir section of Harakat-ul Jihad Islami (HUJI).
