Puducherry H1N1 toll rises, India's toll at 457
New Delhi, Oct 29: Four Swine Flu deaths from Puducherry and one each from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, took the country's total H1N1 death toll to 457 with the total of six fatalities reported on Wednesday, Oct 28.
Maharashtra which is one of the worst hit states by the virus has reported a total of 196 fatalities which is the highest in the country.
While the Tamil Nadu's toll mounts to seven with this latest victim succumbing to the H1N1 virus, Puducherry's toll mounts to five as it had only reported one death till now.
88 new cases of the flu have been detected across the country. Out of the 88, 30 are from Kerala, followed by Delhi with 19, Maharashtra with 14, Karnataka with 8 and Haryana with 1 case.
