Detroit mosque leader killed in FBI raids
Washington, Oct 29: The leader of a mosque in Detroit who was believed to be heading a militant group was killed in a raid conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Wednesday, Oct 28.
53-year-old Luqman Ameen Abdullah, alias Christopher Thomas, was killed after he tried to shot at the FBI agents who were executing a search warrant on a warehouse in Dearborn, outside Detroit.
The FBI also arrested eight suspects during the raid. Three other suspects who are still to be arrested for charges including conspiracy, weapons violations and trafficking in stolen goods.
Although there were no charges of terrorism, the court documents said that the mosque leader had threatened terrorist actions in conversations with FBI informants and undercover agents.
