Avoid live coverage of terrorist attacks, says Pak I and B Minister
Islamabad, Oct 29(ANI): Condemning the Peshawar blast, Pakistan Information and Broadcasting Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has urged private news channels in the country to avoid live coverage of terrorist attacks, as it "depress and scare people".
Addressing a press conference, Kaira said that the Taliban wanted to spread terror in the society through the attacks and live coverage is indirectly helping them in their motive.
"People get depressed by such scenes. Taking into account today's incident, we need to review our policy of live coverage," The Daily Times quoted Kaira, as saying.
Meanwhile, about the timeframe for the repeal of the 17th Amendment, Kaira said that a parliamentary committee on constitutional reforms was working on an amendment package.
He also said that the Government wanted to take on board all parties represented in parliament to amend the constitution. (ANI)
