CAT okays Govt for DPCs guidelines

New Delhi, Oct 28: A fair policy followed by the government make it eligible to frame guidelines for Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs), according to an order passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal(CAT).

The order which was passed following an appeal by the sub-inspector, Ram Nivas, will face not judicial inference on the from CAT unless the government have drafted it to favor a particular class of candidate.

Ram Nivas in his appeal had vouched for 2005 guidelines instead of the 2008 guidelines for promotion by the DPCs.

"The guidelines will faced no judicial interference provided the guidelines have been framed to to uniformly treat candidates placed as per the guidelines," the Tribunal said.
