Tibetans in Bangalore protest ahead of Chinese Minister's India visit

Bangalore, Oct.26 (ANI): Tibetans-in-exile here on Monday staged a silent protest against the visit of Chinese External Affairs Minister in India for a trilateral Foreign Ministers' meet.

The Foreign Ministers of Russia, India and China will meet in Bangalore on Tuesday (Oct. 27).

The protestors said that the border issue between the two countries could not be solved till Tibetan issue was solved.

"We believe that there is no border between China and India so there is no need for a border talk between China and India. The border is between India and Tibet. It's very clear. And there is no way that they can solve the border issue without solving the Tibetan issue at all," said Servin Golvkar, one of the protestors.

Officials said the two ministers could discuss issue related to tensions arising from troop mobilisation along their border and the proposed visit of Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama to Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang area.

India has been home to the Dalai Lama since he fled a failed Tibetan uprising against Chinese rule in 1959. (ANI)
