Steamy online pics land Kiwi teacher in trouble

Melbourne, Oct 26: A young Kiwi primary school teacher is in trouble after posting her steamy naked photographs on a website.

The New Zealand Teachers Council has launched investigation into 26-year-old Rachel Whitwell after she appeared in the 'New Aussie Babes' section of the Australian Penthouse magazine's website, professing to love pornography.

The photographs show Whitwell kneeling seductively in front of a piano and frolicking in a spa, and quote the woman, nicknamed 'Lexy'.

"I am a 26-year-old single school teacher from New Zealand that would love to get into modeling," she says on the website.

"I've written erotic stories for an R-rated magazine and run my own pole dancing studio."

She's also the girlfriend of Kiwi multi-millionaire porn movie distributor Steve Crow.

New Zealand's Teachers Council director Peter Lind said an investigation was under way to see whether she should be struck off the teaching register.

"What is private and what is public is always a grey area but when they intersect we investigate," the Australian quoted Lind as saying.

"When a teacher is in the public arena we must say that it does impact on their ability to do their job," he added.

However, Whitwell, who is taking a break from teaching to spend time with her young daughter, told New Zealand's Sunday News she didn't know what all the fuss was about.

"I didn't think that anyone from New Zealand would see them," she said.

She argued that naked images did not change the fact that she was a good teacher.

"People will vouch I'm a really good teacher. My ability to teach and have good relationships with students is not affected," she added.
