Pak troops fire on Indian posts again, jawan hurt
Poonch, Oct 24: In yet another instance of ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops have reportedly fired on an Indian post in Mendhar sector of Poonch district on Saturday, Oct 24.
In the firing incident that lasted up to half hour between 0930 hours to 1030 hours, an Indian army jawan was injured.
Defense sources revealed that the Pakistani troops fired up to 500 rounds using LMGs and MMGs. But the Indian troops did not retaliate.
In Sep 2009, there were two instances of ceasefire violations. While the Pakistani troops had open fired once; in another incident, as many as three rockets were fired from Pakistan which landed and exploded in fields of Modhe and Khacha villages along the Indo-Pak border.
