Congress stakes claim to form Haryana govt

Chandigarh, Oct 23: Haryana Congress Chief Phool Chand Mullana met Governor Jagan Nath Pahadia on Friday, Oct 23 afternoon claimed the support of all seven Independent MLA's.

Congress which bagged 40 seats in the 90-member assembly was just short of six seats to form a simple majority.

Mullana who staked claim to form the next government in the state said "We have the numbers. We will form the government."

"In my capacity as HPCC President, I presented the Congress claim before the Governor of being the single largest party and also having the support of the seven Independents," he added.
