Scarlett Murder: CBI to file chargesheet soon
Mumbai, Oct 21: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which is investigating the murder of the British teenager, Scarlett Keeling will be filing its chargesheet by Oct 23.
CBI officials on Wednesday, Oct 21 revealed that the agency will be filing its chargesheet against accused Samson D'Souza and Placido Carvalho before a Children's court in Goa on or before Oct 23.
The chargesheet reportedly includes statements of eye witnesses who saw Scarlett with the two accused on the day of the alleged murder, statement of police and the doctor who examined the victims body along with the statement of the victim's mother Fiona Mackeown.
The 2008 murder case was handed over to the CBI after there were reports that the local police was trying to cover up the case.
After a bruised and semi-naked body of Scarlett was found at the Anjuna beach in Goa on Feb 18, 2008, the police had arrested D'Souza, a bartender and Carvalho, a drug dealer and charged them for allegedly drugging, raping and leaving Scarlett on the beach.
However, both the accused are out on bail.
