PM to address senior defence commanders in Delhi
New Delhi, Oct.20 (ANI): The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, will meet the senior most commanders of the Army, Navy and Air Force here on Tuesday.
He is likely to inform them about the government's plans for and expectations from the three armed forces.
The customary annual address to the defence chiefs is taking placein the backdrop of a deteriorating security scenario in the South Asian region, especially in neighbouring Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Dr.Singh is likely to outline India's immediate and medium-term defence policy with respect to China, Pakistan, Afghanistan and the internal security challenge posed by left wing extremism.
He is expected to reassure the forces that there will be no compromise on India's defence preparedness. (ANI)
