Petrol pump catches fire in Bhopal

Bhopal, Oct 19(ANI): A major fire broke out on Monday at a petrol pump near New Market area in Bhopal.

Though the fire created panic in the area, no casualties were reported as it was brought under control before it could wreck havoc.

According to initial reports, the fire broke out in a petrol tanker, which was filling fuel in the pump. Soon, huge flames engulfed the entire petrol pump following which around 15 fire tenders were rushed to the scene immediately.

"The fire was reaching to another petrol pump in the vicinity and Apex Bank because of the petrol that was flowing. However, the fire was controlled at the right time using the available resources," said Shivshekhar Shukla, Collector of Bhopal.

Meanwhile, officials are trying to ascertain the cause of the fire. (ANI)
