Pananji, Oct 17: The Goa police arrested two men in connection with one of the murders of the serial killings reported from the state this week. The two Goans who fled to Mumbai after killing and burning a 16-year-old girl were arrested on Friday, Oct 16.

35-year old Chandrakant Talwar and 20-year-old Sairan Rodrigues were arrested for killing of the teenager, Evita Rodrigues whose charred body was found at Verna village.

"Two Goans arrested in Mumbai have confessed to killing the girl and burning her. We are not ruling out their hand in other killings, which were done in a similar style," Deputy IGP Ravindra Yadav said.

The police who found ten dead bodies since Monday, Oct 12 have maintained that the incidents should be linked together as serial murders. And the state police hasve proved their theory right after the arrests.

Earlier, the police also arrested a slum dweller, Babu Reddy and detained three others for questioning in connection with the murders of four members of a family. They believe that the men who were involved in petty thefts till now killed two children and a man after they resisted the rape of the woman in the family.
