Women to get free bus ride in Delhi on Bhai Dooj

New Delhi, Oct 16: Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit on Friday, Oct 16 announced that Women in Delhi can enjoy a free ride in DTC buses on the occasion of Bhai Dooj.

Bhai Dooj is celebrated a day after Diwali. Sisters put vermilion on the forehead of their brothers and pray for their long life.

Speaking to reporters here, Dikshit said, "Women in Delhi will be able to travel free in DTC buses on Bhai Dooj. The decision has been taken to ensure that women can easily reach their brothers' place."

She also said women will be allowed to ride free in all ordinary DTC buses and the green low-floor buses till 5 pm on Monday, Oct 19.
