John Abraham, Javed Akhtar vote in Maha polls
Mumbai, Oct 13: Famous members of the Bollywood fraternity not only exercised thier franchise in the Maharashtra Assembly Polls 2009 but also took the chance to stress on the importance of voting.
Actor John Abraham who voted in Bandra said that the infrastructure in Mumbai needed an overhaul.
Lyricist Javed Akhtar and actress wife Shabana Azmi cast their votes in Juhu in suburban Mumbai.
Terming those who don't vote as 'idiots', Akhtar urged the people to realise the importance of having this fundamental right.
"Not many countries give this right to its citizens. We have it and must make full use of it," he said.
While social activist and actress Shabana said that voting in Assembly elections were especially important 'to bring about the change in our own area', other film industry icons like Prem Chopra and Nagma too cast their votes on Oct 13.
