Assembly Polls: 49 pc voting in Haryana till 3 pm

Chandigarh, Oct 13: Despite incidents of violence, Haryana Assembly Polls has seen a voter turnout of about 49 per cent till 3 pm. Reports say that the rural voters have shown more enthusiasm than the urban ones.

13 million have exercised their franchise for elections to the 90-member assembly on Tuesday, Oct 13 in the state which saw violence in Guhla (reserved) seat in Kaithal district where Jyoti Ram, a polling agent of independent candidate Kulwant Bazigar, was killed in a group clash with Congress supporters.

In yet another incident of violence reported from Nima Kheri and other villages in Mewat district, Congress and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) supporters clashed. Four people were injured in this incident and the police had to take action to bring the situation under control.
