Al Qaeda-type terrorists in US: Homeland Security chief
Washington, Oct.13 (ANI): U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has told Bloomberg Television that Al Qaeda-type terrorists are present in the country and are being tracked.
"It is fair to say there are individuals in the United States who ascribe to Al Qaeda-type beliefs. And so it makes information-sharing, it makes effective law enforcement and it makes the shared responsibility of law enforcement ever so important," Fox News quoted Napolitano, as saying.
She warned that despite improvements in the way homeland security is handled, the threat of a terrorist attack is "always with us."
Napolitano said the combination of some Al Qaeda leaders being killed or caught, and their financing being traced or blocked, has prevented the terror group from spreading its wings geographically. (ANI)
