Accenture to mordernise Indian postal service
New Delhi, Oct 13: Accenture has announced that it has won a modernisation deal from the Postal Department.
Under the deal, the Global IT and consultancy firm is going to be modernising the post offices across the country by designing an enterprise IT architecture and migrate the Department of Post (DoP) to a more efficient IT system.
However, the financial details of the deal is unknown.
With this project, the DoP aims to drive revenue and regain market share in different services and products such as bill payment, e-posts, life insurance, money transfer and banking.
The modernisation will also help the users of the service through speedier banking and insurance services, track and trace abilities and would help the postal department to compete effectively with the local and international courier firms, Accenture statement said.
