Sonia blames NDA Govt. for biased against Congress ruled States
Jhajjar (Haryana), Oct.11 (ANI): Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Sunday blamed BJP-led National Democratic Alliance Government of discriminating against Congress-ruled States during its tenure.
Addressing an election rally on the last day of poll campaigning here, Sonia said: "During the BJP-led NDA rule, there had been drought in Rajasthan while some other states were affected by flood, but they never helped the States where Congress was in power."
"They (NDA) used to provide all help to their own people, but never helped us. We never discriminated against any area," Sonia added.
Highlighting that the budget in Haryana had witnessed a five-time increase under Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Sonia claimed that people across the state have gained from it unlike in the past when only a particular area or only selected few people reaped the benefits.
While addressing a rally at Nuh in the State's Mewat district which has big number of Muslim population, Sonia said that the Congress party believed that till the time weaker sections were not part of the development, it could not be complete.
"We have to connect these sections and the minorities with mainstream development," Sonia said. (ANI)
