Shiv Sena candidate shot at in Pune

Pune, Oct.11 (ANI): Unidentified gunmen attempted to assassinate Shiv Sena candidate Ajay Bhosle on Sunday morning.

The attack took place in Pune's Vadgaon locality near the Koregaon Park. The assailants reportedly came on a motorbike and shot at Bhosle. Bhosle's driver, however, was injured in the incident. Further details are awaited.

The attack comes just two days before assembly elections are to be held in Maharashtra.

In Maharashtra, 7,56,34,525 voters will elect 288 MLAs. Maharashtra has a 288-member State Assembly. There are 82,028 polling centers in Maharashtra.
