Puri beach sand image congratulates Obama for Nobel Peace Prize
Puri, Oct 11 (ANI): Orissa's well known sand artist Sudarsan Patnaik has created a four-foot high sand sculpture on Puri beach congratulating US President Barack Obama on him winning the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009.
Patnaik created images of Obama and the Nobel Prize bearing the message 'Let Peace Prevail'.
Patnaik said he hoped the Nobel Prize would inspire Obama to work more for world peace.
"With this sculpture we want to congratulate Obama on his winning the Nobel Peace Prize and we expect that after this prize Obama will work towards the world peace," Patnaik added.
Hundreds of tourists, both domestic and foreign, were left spellbound by Patnaik's creation.
"I think Obama can change something. He begins to change something now Americans thinks yes we must not... Be careful and not to use...spiel. So they begin to change, "said Mary Lantin, a foreign tourist.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee hailed Obama's extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples." (ANI)
