Under-19 cricketer Gagandeep Singh shot dead in Meerut

Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 10 (ANI): An under-19 cricketer, Gagandeep Singh, was shot dead by an unidentified gunman here last night.

The incident took place between 11:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. when he had gone with his two teammates to a hotel where unidentified gunmen opened fire after a verbal altercation with the hotel owner.

The hotel owner was killed and a bullet also hit Gagandeep, killing him on the spot.

Gagandeep was in Meerut for the CK Nayudu cricket tournament.

Recently, Gagandeep had been to Australia to play under-19 cricket. He has played seven international matches. (ANI)
