Fight against Maoists to continue without army: PM

Bangalore, Oct 10: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the would fight the Maoists but not use Army against them.

"It shows the measure of challenge we face. We will never succumb," said Singh in Raichur while he was on an aerial survey of the flood-hit areas in parts of north Karnataka.

"We are not talking of using armed forces. Police and paramilitary forces will be mobilised."

Maoists killed 17 policemen in Gadchiroli in Maharashtra on Thursday, Oct 8.
