Water levels recede in AP, sun shines over K'taka

Bangalore / Hyderabad, Oct 9: The flood-hit regions of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka are slowly recovering from the sudden blow. While the water levels are receding in Andhra's Krishna and Guntur districts, north-Karnataka finally saw some sunlight.

AP officials have said that the flood water in several Vijayawada localities and in villages of Krishna and Guntur districts are receding. Water levels in Rapalle town in Guntur district, which was inundated after the flood breached Krishna Right Bank, Vellaturu Branch Canal and Penumudi are also decreasing.

In Karnataka, Ingalagi and Khairwadagi villages of Bagalokot saw the sun shining after a weak of incessant rains that buried houses, crops and lives under flood water. However, the people are still starved and filled with hopelessness after the massive natural calamity.
