TN editor granted bail, charges not dropped
Chennai, Oct 9: The news editor of Tamil daily Dinamalar, B Lenin, who was arrested for allegedly defaming film actresses, has reportedly been granted bail.
However, he has not been released yet and is still in Chennai's Pural prison. Even the charges levelled against have not been dropped yet.
This comes after the Madras Press club along with Dinamalar employees protested the arrest of the editor on the complaint filed by by Radha Ravi, the general secretary of the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA).
The controversy was triggered off when the daily carried a report on Oct 4 stating that several Kollywood actress as those involved in the flesh trade in Chennai.
