Fidayeen attack foiled in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 9 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Police assisted by the army and the CRPF foiled an attempted fidayeen (suicide) strike by killing Hizbul terrorist Omar Maviya here on Friday.

A huge cache of ammunition including 30 kilograms of RDX, suicide vests with wires and two batteries, two grenades and an AK-47 were recovered, private television reported.

Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF had earlier killed three militants, including two belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba' in a fierce gunbattle in South Kashmir. (ANI)
