Only Congress can provide better governance: Rahul Gandhi

Panvel, Oct 8 (ANI): Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi said on Thursday that it's only his party would ensure better governance for people of Maharashtra.

Addressing a election rally adjacent to a hospital, here Rahul said that the past five years of Congress rule in India and 10 years in Maharashtra had ensured that the fruits of development reach the common man.

He claimed that the Congress has fulfilled its given promises and it looking ahead to do more for the people of the country, especially those living in rural areas.

Referring to the National Rural Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) Rahul said it had benefited many unemployed rural folk in the country.

Rahul said that it was only his party, that considered the aam aadmi (common man) the country's real strength.

He also urged that people of Panvel to give their whole hearted support to party candidate Prashant Thakur, whom he described as an emerging leader representing the aspirations of the youth and the elderly.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan was also present on the occasion.(ANI)
