26/11 masterminds not friends of Pak: Qureshi
Washington, Oct 8: Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the perpetrators of the Nov 2008 Mumbai terror attacks were not Islamabad's friends.
"Those who carried out the Mumbai terrorist attack that killed 166 innocent people are not friends of Pakistan," Qureshi said.
Speaking at the Council of Foreign Relations, a US think tank, Qureshi said was in Pakistan's self-interests to maintain a cordial relationship with India.
"In the interest of stability and peace in the region. It is in the interest of Pakistan's enlightened self-interest to normalize and live in peace with India. The Government of Pakistan believes that these organizations have to be checked, curtailed and shut," The Nation quoted Qureshi,as saying.
Responding to a question, he termed the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal 'discriminatory'.
"And when you sign agreements that are discriminatory in nature it does not help," he added.
