Indian inflation falls to 0.70 pc
New Delhi, Oct 8: Indian inflation fell to 0.70 pc from the week ending Sep 26 from 0.83 pc in the previous week.
The wholesale price index-bases inflation stood below 1 pc mark for the fourth consecutive week after rising from sub-zero levels in the first week of Sep 2009.
Food items like poultry chicken fell by 3 pc while bajra, fruits and vegetables, condiments and spices, and arhar prices slipped by a 1pc each.
Manufactured food items that saw a decline in prices included oil cakes (5 pc), imported edible oil (2 pc), and sugar, malted food, coconut oil and groundnut oil (1 pc)
