CWG delegates to inspect 2010 game venues

New Delhi, Oct 8: Officials of about 71 Commonwealth Games Associations will be inspecting the country's facility to host the upcoming event on Thursday, Oct 8.

The delegates will be visiting all the 2010 Games venues in a tour that begins at 8.30 am and is expected to end by 7 pm.

Anticipating that this movement will cause severe traffic congestion in the nation's capital, the authorities have told the commuters to avoid the route which the delegates are expected to take.

The commuters have been asked to avoid Kamal Ataturk Marg, Safdarjung Road, Lodhi Road, Mathura Road, Bhairon Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, National Highway-24, Talkatora Road, Raisina Road, Janpath, Prithviraj Road and Aurobindo Marg.

The officials will be visiting the venues in New Delhi along with three others that are located away from central Delhi namely Delhi University stadium, Dr Karni Singh shooting range and Yamuna sports complex.

It is the time for India especially Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit's government to prove to the Commonwealth Games Federation chief, Mike Fennel that the country is capable of holding the sporting event.
