Train accident in Bihar kills one, injures scores

Samastipur, Oct 8: Amrapali Express met with an accident near Pasraha railway station in Bihar late on Wednesday, Oct 7 night. At least one passenger has been killed and 22 others injured in the mishap that took place on the Barauni-Katihar rail section under Samastipur Division of the East Central Railway(ECR) .

Quoting Railway officials media reports say that the accident took place when the train passing through the Pasraha railway station derailed. This was caused by the weakened track that caved in following incessant rains in the area.

Indian Railway officials of Sonepur and Samastipur Division have rushed to the spot for rescue operations while the accident paralysed train services on the Barauni-Katihar division.
