Google celebrates the Barcode with a doodle

Bangalore, Oct 7: Google tries to educate its users on the historic dates with its inventive doodles features an image of bar code on its search home page celebrating the anniversary of the bar code which was patented on Oct 7, 1952.

Invented by Norman Woodland, Jordin Johanson, and Bernard Silver, bar code has come to be known as landmark technology with manufacturers and developers even today creating applications for mobile devices that make use of the barcode.

This particular doodle draws extra significance as this times the Nobel prize for Physics was awarded to Charles Kuan Kao, George Smith and Willard Boyle for thier 'Charge-coupled devices' to read bar codes.

Google which is the most used search engine has also come to be known for its clever doodles With this Internet major has not only set a new design phenomenon but also effectively educates its users on various milestones of human history.
