Flood relief: Karnataka gets peanuts from Centre
Bangalore, Oct 7: To tackle the flood situation, the Centre has released Rs 209.1 crore from the Calamity Relief Fund to flood-hit Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, official release said.
Andhra Pradesh will receive Rs 156.84 crore, while Karnataka will only get Rs 52.26 crore from the relief fund.
It must be noted that more than 17.8 people million people in Karnataka have been affected by the floods and over 2 lakh houses have been damaged or collapsed.
With the release of the relief fund, the Centre seems to be playing politics. The Centre should see that as Andhra Pradesh, even Karnataka has suffered great losses from the floods.
