Deer musk seized in West Bengal
Mohodipur (West Bengal), Oct 3 (ANI): The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has seized 20 packets of deer musk from a Bangladeshi national here.
Officials said the accused, identified as Hashimuddin Mondal, was apprehended in Malda district.
"Border Security Force (BSF) personnel had called us to inform that Bangladeshi citizens had been caught with twenty packets of deer musk and the rest of the things will come out after further investigations," said A.P Singh, District Forest Officer, Mohidipur forest range.
Deer musk is in great demand in the international drugs market and costs over 50,000 US dollars per kilogram.
In a thriving illegal trade it is valued three times its weight in gold. (ANI)
