Recession: Man kills family and commits suicide
New Delhi, Oct 1: Frustrated and depressed over his inability to find a job, 38-year-old MBA graduate committed suicide after poisioning his child and strangling his wife to death.
Arvind Pathak who mixed poison in the dinner of his 11 -year-old Abishi strangled his 35-year-old wife, Mamata to death before he killed himself by injesting highly potent pills on Wednesday, Sep 30.
The MBA graduate had moved to Delhi from Bihar to find a job. Due to the slump, he found that the job markets were down and most of the companies had frozen recruitment.
He was reportedly working at a epartmental store of readymade garments in Jaipur earlier. He was sacked from the job as the unit shut down due to recession.
His wife who worked as teacher in Kapashera too lost her job recently.
Pathak had written a two page suicide note which read, "I am taking this extreme step as no one has been able to understand my financial position."
