Mullah Omar, Osama bin Laden present in Pak, operating from Quetta : US
Islamabad, Oct.1 (ANI): The United States has reiterated that top Taliban leaders including Mullah Omar are hiding in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan and carrying out their nefarious activities from there.
Interacting with media persons here, Deputy Chief of the Mission, US Embassy, Gerald Feierstein said Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was alive and has taken refuge in Pakistan.
"Osama is present in Pakistan. The command system of Taliban is based in Quetta and they are launching their activities from the suburbs of the city," Feierstein said.
Feierstein also denied the presence of private US security firm Blackwater in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has brushed aside Feierstein statements terming them as 'baseless speculation'.
Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit said the US should share evidence with Islamabad regarding bin Laden's presence in Pakistan.
"If there are any evidence that US has, it should hand them to Pakistan," The News quoted Basit, as saying. (ANI)
