Nifty end flat; RIL, L&T, ITC dip
Mumbai, Oct 1: The Nifty closed flat after trading lacklustre for the entire session. Some buying was seen in IT, banks and FMCG stocks.
However, pharma, oil & gas auto and power stocks traded lower. Reliance, L&T, HDFC, ITC and NTPC were the negative contributors to the bourses.
The Sensex was up 7.71 points or 0.05 pc at 17134.55, and the Nifty was down 6.95 points or 0.14 pc at 5077.
About 1177 shares advanced, 1713 shares declined, and 320 shares were unchanged.
Top gainers on the Sensex were Bharti Airtel at Rs 435.35 up 4.01 pc, Reliance Comm at Rs 318 up 3.25 pc, ICICI Bank at Rs 924.45 up 2.17 pc, TCS at Rs 631.95 up 2.03 pc and M&M at Rs 891.25 up 1.14.
Top losers on the Sensex were Maruti Suzuki at Rs 1,651 down 2.82 pc, HDFC at Rs 2,699.15 down 2.8 pc, Grasim at Rs 2,700.80 down 2.44 pc, Tata Power at Rs 1,290.65 down 2.18 pc and Hero Honda at Rs 1,634.45 down 2.11 pc.

Sensex volatile; Pharma, oil & gas dip
At 12.39 pm, the Sensex witnessed volatility. Buying interest was seen IT, banks, realty and metal stocks.
The Sensex was up 3.56 points or 0.02 pc at 17130.40, and the Nifty was up 1.95 points or 0.04 pc at 5085.90.
Pharma, auto and oil & gas stocks were trading lower. Reliance, L&T, HDFC, ITC and HDFC Bank were the negative contributors to the Sensex.
About 1284 shares advanced, 1557 shares declined, and 369 shares were unchanged.
Top gainers on the Sensex were Bharti Airtel at Rs 439.65 up 5.04 pc, TCS at Rs 637.45 up 2.92 pc, Infosys at Rs 2,342.35 up 1.47 pc, Wipro at Rs 610 up 1.37 pc and ACC Rs 830.50 up 1.37 pc.
However, top losers on the Sensex were HDFC at Rs 2,704 down 2.62 pc, Maruti Suzuki at Rs 1,658.70 down 2.37 pc, NTPC at Rs 209.70 down 1.87 pc, Tata Motors at Rs 581.50 down 1.67 pc and Tata Power at Rs 1,297.40 down 1.67 pc.

Sensex trading marginally higher; SBI, TCS gain
At 10.56 am, the Sensex was trading with marginally higher and was hovering around the 17150 level. Buying was seen in IT, realty and banking stocks while oil & gas, pharma and auto stocks were witnessing selling pressure.
Infosys, ICICI Bank, SBI, Bharti Airtel and TCS were the positive contributors to the bourses.
The Sensex was up 34.47 points or 0.20 pc at 17161.31, and the Nifty was up 8 points or 0.16 pc at 5091.95.
About 1391 shares advanced, 1424 shares declined, and 395 shares were unchanged.
Top gainers on the Sensex were Bharti Airtel at Rs 443.20 up 5.89 pc, TCS at Rs 640.40 up 3.40 pc, ACC at Rs 838.10 up 2.29 pc, Jaiprakash Asso at Rs 241.35 up 1.73 pc and DLF at Rs 444 up 1.37 pc.
However, top losers on the Sensex were Maruti Suzuki at Rs 1,658.90 down 2.35 pc, HDFC at Rs 2,731 down 1.65 pc, NTPC at Rs 210.70 down 1.4 pc, Sun Pharma at Rs 1,380 down 1.38 pc and Tata Power at Rs 1,302.10 down 1.31 pc.

Nifty choppy in early trade; RIL, BPCL dip
At 9:59 am, the Nifty was choppy in the early trade with positive bias and was inching towards the 5100 mark.
Bharti, ICICI Bank, Idea , Rel Comm, PNB were the major gainers while Sun Pharma, RIL, BPCL, Maruti Suzuki were the major losers.
The Sensex was up 30 points at 17158, and the Nifty was up 8 points at 5092.
Asian markets were trading lower today. Nikkei slipped 1.5 pc, Seoul Composite was down 2 pc, Straits Times was down 0.50 pc, however Taiwan Weighted was up marginally.
The US markets ended modestly lower on the back of mixed economic data. The Dow ended down 29.92 points, or 0.3 pc, at 9,712.28.
The S&P 500 index fell 3.53 points, or 0.3 pc, to 1,057.08. The Nasdaq fell 1.62 points, or 0.1 pc, to 2,122.42.
