Kerala tourism boat capsizes, four drown

Thekkady, Sep 30: A Kerala Tourism Development boat carrying 75 tourists capsized in Mullaperiyar river killing at least four people including two women and two children on Wednesday, Sep 30.

The police said that the bodies of the two women and two children have been recovered.

State Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that officials of the district administration, forest department and police along with divers had reached the site.

Rescue operations are still one.

According to initial reports, the accident took place at around 5:15 pm and tourists from Karnataka along with few foreigners were on the boat.
