Khajuri Khas school in Delhi reopens
New Delhi, Sept 29 (ANI): A Delhi government school, which witnessed a stampede in which five girls were killed, reopened on Tuesday amid protest from parents.
The protesting parents are demanding a CBI probe into the incident.
Besides, they are also demanding strict action against the school authorities and more compensation from the Delhi Government.
The Delhi Government had announced Rs 1 lakh to the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
The protests turned violent and police resorted to lathicharge to control a mob that set a bus afire.
So far, no arrests have been made in the case. But a case has been registered by the Delhi Police. The police have registered a case of causing death due to negligence.
Five girls were killed and 27 others were injured in the September 10 stampede which was prompted by fears of electrocution in the school following heavy rains. (ANI)
