4,000 Karnataka doctors to resign today
Bangalore, Sep 29: Nearly 4,000 government doctors in Bangalore and other districts and taluks would resign on Tuesday, Sep 29, to protest the salary disparity in health, family welfare and medical education departments.
The Karnataka doctors would serve a notice period till Oct 14, Wednesday.
Moreover, if demands like filling up 2,000 vacancies and pay hike were not met then the doctors would stop working from Thursday, Oct 15.
Demands for regularization of contract doctors were accepted.
However, the government promised to soon take care of matters.
“Our concerned minister will talk to concerned doctors afterward we'll take necessary action," said B S Yeddyurappa, the Karnataka chief minister.
