Armed robbers kill one person, injure two in Pune

Pune, Sep.26 (ANI): In a daylight robbery at least one person died and two others sustained injuries, as armed robbers in a courier shop fired at them here on Saturday.

Robbers armed with country-made pistols entered Patel Ishwarlal Bechardas, a courier shop, located at the heart of Pune city at about 1:30 in the afternoon.

According to police, the assailants fired at the employees of the shop after they were refused to handover the money they demanded.

"Today, around 1.30 pm afternoon in Ravivar Peth at Patel Ishwarlal Bechardas shop. Around four assailants entered and they threatened shop owners to handover the cash. But when they refused, assailants carrying pistols fired two- three rounds. Bullets were found on the site. Dilip bhai, Mani bhai Gujjar and Kanji bhai Gujjar got injured," said Gyaneshwar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pune.

Robbers also snatched money from a customer present at the shop and fled away.

The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.

Police have cordoned off the entire area. (ANI)
