Air India employees continue talks with management

New Delhi, Sep 26 (ANI): Talks between executive pilots on strike and Air India Management is now on here today to resolve the deadlock and to discuss about their demands to reduce their productivity-linked incentives (PLI) by 50 per cent.

Air India has cancelled its two flights due to an agitation called by a section of the national airlines' pilots.

According to Air India sources, the airlines cancelled the flights to Mumbai and Kabul this morning.

The passengers of the cancelled flight to Mumbai have been accommodated in the next flight while those going to Kabul have been lodged in a hotel, the sources added.

Captain Bhalla, a representative of the Executive pilots of the airlines, said that the pilots have taken a decision to go on strike because nobody is in state of mind to work due to the salary cuts and hinted that the strike might extend for an indefinite period.

Meanwhile, Air India sources expressed surprise over the decision of the pilots to go on strike even after taking them on board over the PLI reduction.

There are around 300 Executive pilots in the Air India.

Air India claims that since the Executive pilots are part of the airlines management, they cannot form a union and also cannot go on strike. (ANI)
