Maha Polls: Kalavati files nomination
Nagpur, Sep 25: Ailing Kalavati Bandurkar proved speculations that she may be able to file her nominations for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections wrong, when she travelled by an ambulance to the office of the returning officer in Wani constituency to submit her poll nomination paper.
Kalavati, the farmer's widow from Yavatmal in Maharashtra became popular when Congress General Secretary, Rahul Gandhi mentioned her name in his speech.
The 48-year-old widow has who been named by the Vidarbha Jan Andolan Samiti (VJAS) as its candidate for the polls is being projected as a candidate who would empower the widows and orphans of Vidarbha.
Kalavati was rushed to the Yavatmal district hospital on Friday, Sep 25 morning due to hypertension.
