Thousands of devotees converge at Tirupati for Brahmotsavam
Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Sep 23 (ANI): Thousands of devotees converged at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati hills on Wednesday to take part in the religious processions during the nine-day Tirumala Brahmotsavam.
Tirumala Brahmotsavam, celebrated on the occasion of Dussera festival, commenced today and will culminate on September 27.
It is an annual festival and millions of devotees witness the processions and participate in the celebrations.
The Utsavs are carried out on different chariots, in which the idols of the presiding deity for the procession are taken around the temple premises to the music of Nagaswaram and the beats of the drums.
The shrine of Lord Venkateshwara atop the 860 metres high hills of Tirumala in Tirupati is the revered by Hindus as one of the most venerated pilgrimage centres in the country. (ANI)
