Masaba Wins 'INIFD most promising Designer'
Bangalore, Sep 23: The Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) instituted the award of 'INIFD most promising Designer' to Masaba Gupta at Lakme fashion Week 2010.
"It is a matter of pride for us to encourage a young talent such as Masaba and we will be promoting her design and her talent through all centers of INIFD across the country," said Anil Khosla, CEO of NIFD Ltd.
Masaba, who won Rs I lakh as price money presented a collection called Kattran (meaning patchwork and rustic in Sanskrit).
The collection comprising striped pyjamas, dhotis, jackets, saris and jumpsuits using Indian fabrics like ikkat, silk and jute.
This joint venture of INIFD and Lakme Fashion Week 2010, provided young aspirants a platform to showcase their talents based on style and aesthetics.
Fashioner designers like Ashley Rebello, Rahul Mishra, Mahek Chhal, designer of the film 'Wanted' judged the participants.
